MCHS Students Attend the 67th Annual Kentucky FCCLA State Leadership Conference


Nine Monroe County Family, Career and Community Leaders of America members, along with their adviser, Mrs. Kelli Dickson, attended the 67th Annual Kentucky FCCLA State Leadership Conference that was held March 28 – 30th , 2012 in Louisville, Kentucky at the Galt House Hotel. 

MCHS FCCLA was represented well, with six members competing in STAR Events.  STAR Events is a part of national competitive events in which members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation.  Students competing were Makayla Cleary and Amber Emmert (Chapter Service Project Display); Hannah Harrison and Brooke Simmons (Chapter Showcase Manual); and Haley Adams and Tiffany Taylor (Life Event Planning).  Haley and Tiffany were Super Star (1st place) winners in their event, and have qualified to compete at the National STAR Event competition in Orlando, Florida, held in July. 

Haley represented Region 4 FCCLA at the state conference, announcing regional roll call and serving as a hostess at the banquet, while Brooke and Tiffany served as voting delegates.
