Parents and students should know:
Applies to Kentucky students ages 15–17.
Students must obtain a School Compliance Verification Form before applying for a learner’s permit.
Students must maintain acceptable attendance and academic progress.
A student may be reported after reaching 9 unexcused absences.
Dropping out or becoming academically deficient may result in the suspension of driving privileges.
Driving privileges may be reinstated once the student successfully completes the requirements and returns to compliance.
The law no longer applies once the student turns 18.
